Moonrise Sculptures
The Moonrise sculptures are created from driftwood encountered on the shores of Vancouver Island, Japanese Washi paper, glass, paint, ink and occasionally stone. Most of them are approximately 25 inches in height. Each sculpture is $1200.00 CAD. plus tax. Shipping extra.
They are a collaboration between tree, ocean and artist.
The ocean is a most patient sculptor. Slowly, with great care, she massages each branch into a magnificent work of art, perfectly suited to its inherent characteristics. The two may spend years together, their creation a testament to a harmonious relationship and its gifts. The sculpture, then cast upon the shore, lay in wait for those with open hearts and eyes, for lovers of beauty. Thankfully, I am one of them, and a relationship begins.
I bring her home, place her caringly in the light and sit quietly, giving her time to reveal her secrets. From that Silence, Creative Intelligence offers suggestions of who she might become, a new expression of her loveliness, her power. From there I become both participant and witness, the molder and the molded. The sculpture becomes an expression of me, and I of it. The same Intelligence that moved the ocean for so long now, moves me.

Some of the sculptures incorporate clear glass spheres which are difficult to photograph but are beautiful when seen in person in the piece.
